Republicans are going to frame the election around, what else, national security, vis-a-vi, the Iraq War. By convincing the public that the only thing that matters is "American safety, and freedom from being attacked again" the GOP is going to continue to hold the wool over the American eyes. Sure, McCain is going to address pork barrel legislation, (he has staked his entire political career on it for 30 years), and he will talk about reforming politics on the hill, and how he has the experience to do so. Truth is, he's been in politics for decades...what has he changed yet??? All the experience in the world means diddly squat if he lacks the heart/desire/motivation to impose change. He has done little in his life to rewrite the corrupt atmosphere in Washington, with the exception of fighting pork barrel bills that is. On the issue of changing the way business occurs on the hill, I've got to go with the outsider, the guy as of yet, who is uncorrupted by business as usual, namely Obama. Hillary talks of change...but how can going from Bush, to Clinton, to another Bush, to another Clinton really be considered change??? And as far as lack of experience goes, I'll take an inexperienced but motivated candidate, over an experienced, typical politician (read: tells everyone what they want to hear) any day of the week. These issues are only the half of it, though.
Putting the Iraq War aside...this country has serious issues that need to be addressed. Our education is pitiful compared to other industrialized nations, just look at how American high school students rank against foreigners. Our Social Security System is going bankrupt, and there is not even one decent proposal in Washington to fix it. In fact, I haven't even heard any politician even mention this subject lately. We have porous borders, (Ironic, considering Bush is claiming to be the President for national security, and almost anyone can walk right into our country) and over 12 million illegal immigrants burdening the american tax payer in numerous ways. We have a medical insurance system that already punishes the insured people by factoring in the cost to treat the uninsured, but little attempt is made to explain this to those that oppose universal coverage. We have drugs to cure many ills, but many ill patients can't afford them. We send hundreds of billions to help other nations...but we still have Katrina victims without a home. We have done very little to steer the country towards energy independence. We have emerging super powers like China buying up American debt like it's going out of style, and a president that is happy to mortgage our financial future to pay for his invasions.
Point is, sure, America needs to be recognized as a country that doesn't bow down to terrorists...but we also need to be a country that is capable of addressing and solving its own problems, before its too late, and others must do it for us. THERE ARE FAR TOO MANY PROBLEMS FACING OUR COUNTRY FOR ANYONE TO MAKE UP THEIR MIND ON A CANDIDATE BASED SOLELY UPON THEIR STANCE ON ONE OR TWO ISSUES, LIKE IRAQ, AND ABORTION.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice campaigning to be John McCain’s running mate? If so, Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said on Sunday that he had not noticed.
“I missed those signals,” Mr. McCain told reporters on his campaign plane en route to Kansas City.
Nonetheless, Mr. McCain took a few moments to compliment Ms. Rice. “I think she’s a great American, I think there’s very little that I can say that isn’t anything but the utmost praise for a great American citizen, who served as a role model to so many millions of people in this country and around the world,” Mr. McCain said, adding that “her overall record is very, very meritorious.”
Mr. McCain was responding to questions from reporters about comments made on the ABC program “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” by Dan Senor, a former military spokesman for coalition forces in Baghdad. Mr. Senor said Ms. Rice spoke last week before an unusual forum for a secretary of state: a meeting of economic conservatives led by Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
“Condi Rice has been actively, actually in recent weeks, campaigning for this,” Mr. Senor said.
Ms. Rice has said she was not interested in being vice president.
Mr. McCain, who has been critical of the Bush administration’s handling of Iraq, told reporters that Ms. Rice, who was national security adviser during the first year and a half of the conflict, bore some responsibility for the management of the war.
Also on Sunday, Mr. McCain said he would release his medical records from 2000 to 2008 by May.

HILLARY, As First Lady, assumed authority over Health Care Reform, a process that cost the taxpayers over $13 million. She told both Bill Bradley and Pat Moynahan, key votes were needed to pass her legislation, that she would "demonize "anyone who opposed it. But it was opposed; she couldn't even get it to a vote in a Congress controlled by her own party. (And in the next election, her party lost control of both the House and Senate.)
HILLARY assumed authority over selecting a female Attorney General. Her first two recommendations (Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood) were forced to withdraw their names from consideration, and then she chose Janet Reno. Janet Reno has since been described by Bill himself as "my worst mistake."
HILLARY recommended Lani Guanier for head of the Civil Rights Commission. When Guanier's radical views became known, her name had to be withdrawn.
HILLARY recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster, and William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House staff, and the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned, Foster committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.
HILLARY also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. (FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee in 1996 both the drug use and Hillary's involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving seven presidents for over thirty years.)
HILLARY, in order to open "slots" in the White House for her friends the Harry Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired. They were reported to the FBI for "gross mismanagement" and their reputations ruined. After a thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with a crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks. The jury acquitted him in less than two hours.
HILLARY also assumed the duty of directing the "bimbo eruption squad" and scandal defense: ...She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. ...She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. ...Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after all. ...And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury. ...And Bill was impeached by the House. ...And Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, "I do not recall," "I have no recollection," and "I don't know" 56 times under oath).
HILLARY accepted the traditional First Lady's role of decorator of the White House at Christmas, but in a unique Hillary way. In 1994, for example, The First Lady's Tree in the Blue Room (the focal point each year) was Decorated with drug paraphernalia, sex toys, and pornographic ornaments, all personally approved by Hillary as the invited artists' depictions of the theme, "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
HILLARY wrote "It Takes a Village," demonstrating her socialist viewpoint.
HILLARY decided to seek election to the Senate in a state she had never lived in. Her husband pardoned FALN terrorists in order to get Latino support and the New Square Hassidim to get Jewish support. Hillary also had Bill pardon her brother's clients, for a small fee, to get financial support.
HILLARY then left the White House, but later had to return $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork she had stolen.
HILLARY played the "woman card" in the campaign for the Senate, by portraying her opponent (Lazio) as a bully picking on her.
HILLARY'S husband further protected her by asking the National Archives to withhold from the public until 2012 many records of their time in the White House, including much of Hillary's correspondence and her calendars. (There are ongoing lawsuits to force the release of those records.)
HILLARY, as the junior Senator from New York , passed no major legislation. She has deferred to the senior Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New Yorkers, even on the hot issue of medical problems of workers involved in the cleanup of Ground Zero after 9/11.
Quite a resume, isn't it? Sounds more like an organized crime family.

Hello Loop!
We started bashing my brother one day about his undying loyal devotion for Bill O'Reilly. He wanted to buy my dad "No Spin Golfballs" for Father's Day and we tore into each other over email. The idealogical back-and-forth brought other friends into the mix and it grew too large for email [and some corporate firewalls] to contain.
